Dismantling the brief | What do I need to for this project?

Well. The brief is asking for a new visual language for film advertising. Relying on type to portray this. Its not that clear what exactly they want, but I'm guessing a poster using only words to promote a film director.

What to do

- Chose a film director
- Research their films, find some trends and film patterns
- Get a good feel and knowledge of the film director
- Research into some posters based on typography
- Brainstorm some keywords with films from the director
- Come up with some ideas
- Sketch some ideas
- Design

What the brief wants
- An inspring poster from type
- Difficult to ignore
- Draw the audience in to make them want to see the directors films
- Elements from at least three films
- Something new and original
- Capture the essence, impact and emotion of the film through your choice of words and fonts and use of typography

What to avoid
- Imagery. Brief states it doesn't want any images.
- Don't repeat whats done before
