I have finished it! two days of gathering and editing, with some touch ups to editing before I have completed it.
Talking through some of my design decisions.
As I mentioned before the quote talks about dark and light, so I turned this to literal by having half light half dark on the players face, with a serious emotion.
The next part is sequence of players faces looking tense/concentrated. Following my theme of tensity.
The next quote I have clips of fans and media desperately trying to get players attention, and the players are just pretty much ignoring it and concentrating, enforcing the pressures felt leading up to the prestige tournament.
In the next series of clips I have fans looking nervous or seriously disturbed by something going on the pitch, showing the impact football has on fans watching.
To the next quote, this sequence is Messi's dream. I edit the sequence as if he's dreaming about different things, as well as his major rival Ronaldo.
Syncing to the music was my main priority, also editing to whats being said in quotes. In this part Balboa says 'Beat you down' as soon as he says this I edit a leg stomping on the ground, then slowing it to emphasise it.
I have clip of a fan 'gulping' in slow motion which demonstrates nerves again quite evidently.
A fan crying is adding to that serious emotion I proposed to do.
A goalkeeper saving a penalty, and what it means to a team. Showing team spirit and high positivity of how it feels.
The musics pace has increased dramatically now, editing is quicker, clips are faster. I edit players taking shots from different angles to add of a dynamic touch.
Players sprinting to the hero goalkeeper, syncing to the high pace of the music.
Syncing to a quote again, balboa says 'Take the hits' whilst a player tackles someone.
The build up to the dramatic drop in music is apparent now, I have montage of short clips of players reacting different to things such as this player here when he famously got bitten by a player last world cup.
The very fast drop is happened. Theres 7 hard beats, and I edit to each individual beat to something dynamic in the clip. And example is a player here is celebrating by boxing the flag, each punch I count as a beat for these 7 beats.
Syncing to lyrics in the music this time, the songs says 'Now' and I sync it to the manager who's mouth opens whilst cheering and it looks like he says 'now'.
On the chorus the song is epic and carry a long melody in which I sync to a long slow motion shot of wonder goals scored in the last world cup.
The music calms down I'm which I edit smooth slow motion shots of other goals scored.
I finish off portraying Germany as the current winners of the World cup, with the winning goal, celebration then a ident of the Russia world cup logo 2018.
I have commentary of saying 'Germany are champions of the world' to add that powerful epic vibe to close the video.
