Editing | Final Cut & After effects

As me and Gina were the ones editing, I had 30 seconds just to make my own little promo video, then Gina can chose what parts she wanted for her one. I made my own intro and outdo with music.

The beginning intro I created a simple 2D flat clean animation leading to saying 'FdA & BA students present'. I just created solids and shapes in different layers and transitioned them into a nice little sequence:

I then exported that, then created a project in Final Cut, where the main video was going to be created in. To make the stop motion I imported all photos in order from my camera, dragged them onto the timeline. Created a compound clip to group them and then retime it so it was a fast snappy sequence. I also already knew the music piece I wanted to use, I heard it on my iPhone and just picture using it for the video so thats how I quickly new the music I wanted to use:

Soundtrack: Dj Maca - Dont let me go

It was a fast paced electronic song, which fitted in with all my fast and snappy editing.

I managed to get to the stage where the intro was done, the stop motion of revealing 'I am' was done. Now for how the word 'creative' is shown I came up of the idea to the guys in the iMessage conversation to create text animation and key it onto the wall used for the stick notes.

So I went on youtube to look at some tutorials of how to create particle text effects and there was a few useful ones which I learnt how to do.

I created text and use the effect in after effects of shatter i think it was and reversed it so it built up text with particles instead of the word breaking into particles. I put a bright green background so i could then key it into the background of the wall I used in the final cut video.

With a bit of tweaking up timing and fades, I managed to get it in there and making it look effective.
The finish piece of editing was done, after a days hard work editing. I could send the file to Gina now and let the guys know my part was done, and offer them help with anything they're doing.
